Lawyer, of Trenton, New Jersey (in present day Mercer County); born in 1754 or 1758; served in the Continental Army, New Jersey Line, 1777-1783, attaining the breveted rank of captain; was admitted to the New Jersey bar, 1784; served as clerk of the Monmouth County Court of Common Pleas; removed to Trenton from Monmouth County by 1794; served as clerk of the New Jersey Supreme Court, 1793-1807, and as New Jersey Quartermaster General, 1807-1813; also served as president of Trenton Banking Company, 1807-1815, and was active in masonic affairs; died in Trenton in 1815. Rhea was the father-in-law of Garret D. Vroom.
