Johnston, Ruby Funchess

She attended South Carolina State College in Orangeburg (A.B., 1953), Atlanta University (A.M., 1938) and Radcliffe College and Harvard University (A.M., 1948). She studied under W.E.B. DuBois at Atlanta University. She taught English and sociology at schools and colleges in South Carolina and Florida, and published two books about African American religion.
