Abbot, Downing & Co., Concord, N.H., incorporated as Abbot-Downing Company in 1873; in 1912 renamed Abbot & Downing Company; in 1918 reincorporated as Abbot-Downing Truck & Body Company; Josiah E. Fernald made trustee in 1923 and corporation dissolved in 1925; plant closed 1932 and name purchased by Wells Fargo & Co. in 1945; manufacturer of carriages and later trucks.
