Vanderbilt, Aaron, 1844-1913.
Naval officer during the American War and Spanish-American War, and founding member of the American Shipping and Industrial League; Vanderbilt was instrumental in establishing the New York State Naval Militia and the United States Naval Reserve; born in Tompkinsville, Staten Island, New York.
