Wheeler family.
Lester Wheeler (1848-1926) came to Buffalo from Waterloo, N.Y. in 1874 to take charge of the Heathcote School. He and his wife, Genevra Leslie Newell Wheeler, had three children, Christine, Maxwell S. and Clarence. Maxwell S. (1874-1957), an attorney, served as a vice-president and general counsel for the Larkin Company. He married Gertrude Leibee; they had one son, H. Leibee Wheeler (1910-1987), an owner of Buffalo Aeronautical Corporation and chairman of the National Air Transportation Association. H. Leibee and his wife Hilda were co-publishers of Tri-County Publications, a weekly newspaper. They had two children, William Leibee and Lynn Wheeler LaPerle.
