Midland College (Tex.)
Variant namesMidland College in Midland, Texas, was created as part of the Permian Junior College System when that system was established in 1969. A bond issue for construction of new buildings was defeated in 1971, mainly by voters of Odessa, in Ector County, and the resulting controversy between the two cities led to the disannexation of Midland College from the Permian Junior College System and to the creation of Midland's own junior college district.
