David Bunn is a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked in photography, installation, sculpture, drawing, poetry, performance, the moving image, music & sound, and the artist’s book (of which he has published fifteen). The British writer and editor, Ian Hunt, on the subject of a commissioned work by Book Works, London, says that Bunn’s concrete poetry, replete with musical analogies, “is indulging a free-roaming, connection-making, irresponsible, rigorous, witty, didactic, non-didactic, absurdist, poetic and historical path through other people’s titles, and making them over into primary writing.” He is the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist Fellowships, a City of Los Angeles (COLA) Individual Aritst Grant, a Rockefeller Prize Nominee in Film and Video and winner of the Ethel Fortner Award in Creative Writing. His work has been exhibited worldwide and is represented in public and private collections internationally, including MOCA and LACMA in Los Angeles.
