Bell, James T.
Jas. T. Bell, a first lieutenant, served under Captain John B. (Boyington) Hazard in the 21st Alabama Infantry. Bell assumed charge of this regiment after the death of Hazard at Johnson Island Prison, February, 1864.
Johnson Island Prison was in the Sandusky Bay area of Lake Erie. About 3,000 Confederate officers were held there at the end of the Civil War.
