A professor of history at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y., Wandersee was the author of Women's Work and Family Values, 1920-1940 (1981) and On the Move: American Women in the 1970s (1988). She began this biography of Frances Perkins in 1989 but was unable to finish it before her death from cancer in 1994.
