Hobler, Francis, b. 1797.

Francis Hobler, secretary of the London Numismatic Society, author of "Records of Roman History," and amateur botanist, travelled to America in 1860. He travelled overland to San Francisco and lived on a sheep ranch with a married brother. In 1863, he returned to England, but soon returned to California.
