Indianapolis Retirement Home
Incorporated in 1867 as the Indianapolis Home for Friendless Women, taking in aged and transient women and children. In 1913 the name was changed to the Indianapolis Home for Aged Women, serving only that population. In 1936 it became the Indianapolis Home for the Aged to allow it to serve men as well, but this never came about. The name was changed to the Indianapolis Retirement Home in 1976, and is still in operation.
