Thomas D. Callahan was born in San Francisco, Calif. on September 2, 1911. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. and was assigned to Headquarters Company and later commanded the 110th Mountain Signal Company. Callahan also served at Camp Swift, Tex. before being sent to Italy. During combat operations he received the Bronze Star Medal for his actions at the Apennines and the Po Valley in Spring 1945. Callahan attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died in Sun Bay, Fla. on April 14, 1987.
