Peter Blair was born c1909 in Govan, Glasgow, Scotland. He matriculated into the Faculty of Arts at the University of Glasgow in 1926 where he studied English and Moral Philosophy. His senior honours subjects were English Literature and English Language. He graduated MA in 1930 and became a teacher.
