Lloyd Bentley (1872-1961), born in Hyde Park, Vermont, January 14, 1872, was the son of Edgar and Ellen (Leighton) Bentley. Edgar Bentley (1845-1905) served as a private in Company M, 1st Regiment of Vermont Cavalry, from 1863 until the end of the war, and was in many major campaigns. Lloyd C. Bentley worked as a pharmacist for most of his life, and his only sibling, Homer L. Bentley (1879-1963) was a photographer in Morrisville. Lloyd received his education in Morrisville schools, graduating from the People's Academy in the class of 1891. He learned the pharmacy profession in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and then worked in Morrisville, Vermont. He bought and ran for some years a drug store in Stowe, Vermont. He retired in 1945 and returned to Morrisville to live with his brother Homer. He married Fannie Osgood of Montpelier, who died in 1942.
