The Alabama Humanities Foundation (AHF) (formerly the Alabama Committee for the Humanities and Public Policy) was founded in 1974 and serves as a private non-profit organization affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The Foundation provides grants for projects sponsored by non-profit organizations to promote understanding and appreciation of the humanities in the state of Ala.
The projects must be representative of the areas of the humanities identified by the NEH and the AHF. These areas include history, philosophy, languages, linguistics, literature, archaeology, jurisprudence, criticism of the arts, ethics, and religion.
