Jacqueline Hick was born in Adelaide, worked as a teacher, textile designer and printer. Studied also in London and Paris. One of the leading Australian Painters in dramatic pictures of regional subjects. Has won many awards including Adelaide Arts Festival 1960, and Vizard-Wholohan prizes in 1962-1964. Was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Art Gallery of South Australia in 1968.
