Evelyn Unes Hansen, B.S. (1946), M.S. (1948) University of Minnesota. Instructor (1948-1959), Assistant Professor (1967-1973), Associate Professor (1973-1980), Professor; Associate Dean, Acting Dean (1986-1987) of General College at the University of Minnesota.

Evelyn Hansen was born on March 3, 1926 in Peoria, Illinois. She earned her B.S. in 1946 and M.A. in 1948 from the University of Minnesota. She joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1948 as an instructor of speech and English. From 1959-1966 Hansen worked for the University of Minnesota Press. After spending on year (1966-1967) as chair of the humanities division at Metropolitan State Junior College (Minneapolis, Minnesota), she was appointed as an assistant professor in 1967, associate professor in 1973 and professor in 1980 at the University of Minnesota. Professor Hansen spent most of her academic career in General College, and served as acting dean (1986-1987) and associate dean of the College. In 1977, she was awarded the Amoco Foundation Horace T. Morse Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education and named Faculty Member of the Year.
