The Center for the Performing Arts began as the Artists Series in 1957, with guest speakers and performances held in Schwab Auditorium. Remaining under the College of Art and Architecture, the Center offices moved into the Milton S. Eisenhower Auditorium when it opened in 1977. It continues to sustain its arts program through ticket sales.
