Howard Meriwether Lovett (1866-1945), the daughter of Thomas Molloy Meriwether and Henrietta Caroline Smith, was born in Newton County, Georgia. She married Watkins Price Lovett. They lived in Screven County, Georgia. After her husband's death, she lived in several places with her daughters and son. She was the author of Grandmother Stories from the Land of Used-to-Be (Atlanta: Columbian Book Store, 1913), numerous articles of historical interest, published in various magazines and newspapers, and scripts for plays.
