Prior to World War II, the Accounting Department, Auditing Department, and Disbursement Department managed Ford Motor Company's financial operations. After Henry Ford II's reorganization, a Finance Division was created to provide general supervision and assistance to , the newly decentralized financial units within the operating and staff divisions as well as more general financial and accounting support to the company as a whole. The Finance Division included a Treasurer's Office, a Controller's Office, an Auditing Department, financial planning and analysis departments, and various service departments handling insurance, annuities, real estate, and personnel Through ongoing reorganizations, the Finance Division was eventually replaced with a Finance Staff Division, which functioned along similar lines.
