Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Bill Moloney settled in Australia in the 1930's, became a newspaper reporter, public relations officer, columnist, then for ten years wrote the script for Movietone News. From 1946-50, he wrote 3000 radio serials including the "I Love a Mystery" series, "Meet Mr. Mystery" and "Officer Crosby" episodes. After moving to Cairns, he managed Far Northern Theatres where he was also involved with the Good Neighbour Council.
