Herrick, Curtis J. (Curtis James), 1909-
Variant namesCurtis James Herrick (b. Aug. 12, 1909, Fordville, North Dakota-d. Feb. 9, 1971, Hawaii), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1931. During World War II, he was battalion commander, 11th Armored Division, and deputy chief for logistics, U.S. Army Forces, Pacific. During the Korean Conflict, he served as assistant division commander, 11th Airborne Division; regimental commander, 223rd Infantry Regiment; senior advisor, III ROK Corps, Korea; and commander, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. In the 1960s, General Herrick was chief, Joint U.S. Military Mission for Aid to Turkey, and Commandant, Military District of Washington, D.C. He retired in 1967.

Charles J. Herrick, Jr. was a 1st Lieutenant in the 505th Infantry in the early 1960's and was sent to Vietnam in 1964-65 where he became attached to the 48th Infantry Regiment. From 1970-1976 he was sent to Iran to participate in the Imperial Iranian Army Aviation FMS Program as an U.S. Army Technical Assistance Field Team advisor.
David Rhodes Sparks was born in 1823 in Harrison, Indiana and fought in the Mexican War and was a Captain of Co. L of the 3rd Illinois Cavalry in the Civil War. He later became founder of a milling company, worked in insurance and became a member of the Illinois State Assembly.
