Ernest Raymond La Follette was a professor in the Elementary Education Department at the then Edinboro State Teachers College. He received his A.B. from Ohio Wesleyan in 1926. At Ohio State University he earned his A.M. and Ph.D. in 1936 and 1944 respectively. President L. H. Van Houten hired Dr. La Follette into the Education Department where he served for 24 years, from 1947-1971. In 1968, Elementary Education evolved into Secondary Education.
