Biographical note: Physician; Basil Warren had a general medical practice beginning in 1902 then began work for the U.S. Indian Service about 1913. He first worked among the Yuma and Kiowa Indians in Arizona and Oklahoma before transferring to work at the boarding school at Leupp on the Navajo Indian Reservation in 1914. He was the Agency and Indian School physician for several years.
