The Quelle Saloon, originally located at SW Second Avenue and Stark Streets in Portland, Oregon, was established around 1881, probably by Louis Feurer. By 1884 it was owned by Louis Sechtem, and around 1889 Sechtem and Frederick (or Fritz) Strobel (or Stroebel) formed a partnership to run the business. This lasted until about 1891, when Strobel established his own saloon called the Louvre on SW Fourth Avenue. Sechtem continued in the Quelle Saloon with Ferdinand Sechtem, possibly his brother or son. By 1907 the establishment had moved to SW Sixth Avenue and Stark and was known as the Quelle Cafe and Grill Room. At that date the proprietors were Ferdinand Sechtem and John Schlenk. The saloon disappeared around 1910, probably due to the construction of the Wilcox Building on that site. Ferdinand Sechtem continued in the restaurant business with the Hof Brau, which was taken over by Otto Klein around 1917.
