Branzell, Joseph S., 1918-1997
Baseball coach and worker with the Georgetown Branch of the Washington Boys Club, athletic director and football and basketball coach at Maret School; scout and recruited for the Washington Senators baseball team, later the Texas Rangers; and scout and recruiter for the University of Maryland football team.

Joe Branzell began his career with the Georgetown Boys Club as coach, manager and director. His leadership led the Federal Storage baseball team to four AAABA championships between 1955 and 1962. Branzell left the Boys Club and became a Major League scout for the Washington Senators and later the Texas Rangers. His 35-year career ended in 1996.
