Chohlis, John, 1913-

John Chohlis (1913-1980) was a cattle industry magazine editor and cattle industry executive during the second half of the twentieth century. Chohlis was born on the Greek island of Crete and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1916. He was educated at the University of Idaho and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Chohlis joined the "Western Livestock Journal" in 1952, and served as this magazine's field editor (1952-1960) and editor (1960-1968). From 1969 until his death, Chohlis served as Ralston Purina Company's Manager of Cattle Chows Advertising, Sales Promotion, and Public Relations in St. Louis, Missouri.
