Gregory family.
The Gregory family of Galway, Ireland include Robert Gregory (1727-1810), East India merchant and member of parliament, his son William Gregory (1762-1840) served as Civil-Undersecretary for Ireland. William Gregory's son Robert Gregory (1790-1847) and his wife Elizabeth O'Hara (1799-1875) had one son William Henry Gregory (1817-1892), M.P. for Galway and Governor General of Ceylon. His second wife was Isabella Augusta Persse (1852-1932), author. Their son William Robert Gregory (1881-1918) served with the Royal Flying Corp during World War I and was killed in Italy.
