Henry O. Kent, a native of Lancaster, NH, graduated from Norwich University in 1854. He was a member of the University Regulators and Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and was an organizer of the Alumni Association in 1860. Kent acted as a trustee of Norwich University from 1854 to 1909. He served in the Civil War and was active in local, state (New Hampshire) and national politics. He married Bernice Adaline Rowell in 1859 and the couple had two children.
