Kossoff, Leon, 1926-....
Variant namesBritish painter Leon Kossoff was invited in 1998 by the J. Paul Getty Museum to work from the newly acquired painting Landscape with a calm, or Paysage au temps calme, by Nicolas Poussin (97.PA.60). Kossoff had previously made etchings and drawings inspired by Nicolas Poussin's paintings, notably during the Poussin retrospective held at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in 1995.
