Forbes family.
Family of Isaac and Agnes Forbes, who emigrated to Illinois in 1836 from New York. Sons Henry C. and Stephen A. Forbes both served in the 7th Illinois Cavalry, Company B during the Civil War.
Henry mustered out as lieutenant colonel and Stephen as captain. Stephen Forbes became an accomplished naturalist and Henry a school administrator.
