Mendelsund, Henoch

Henoch Mendelsund (1911-1994) was a longtime member and officer of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU). He served as secretary of the Cloak Finishers local 9, general manager of the Cloak Joint Board, director of the International Relations Department, and head of the ILGWU Archives. Mendelsund arrived in the United States from Poland in 1941, and worked on the Coat and Suit Recovery Board during World War II. He retired from the ILGWU in 1976.
