Robert A. Ratcheson received his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1965. He served on the house staff of Barnes Hospital at the Washington University Medical Center in 1972. He went on to appointments at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine serving as professor and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Ratcheson served as president of the Society of Neurological Surgeons in 2002-2003.
