Lynchburg College, sometimes called Lynchburg Military College, was affiliated with the Methodist Protestant Church. The college was organized in 1855, opened for classes in 1856, and suspended classes in 1861. The present Lynchburg College (which is affiliated with the Disciples of Christ) has no connection with this nineteenth century institution.
