Resident of Arizona since territorial days and Secretary of the Arizona Pioneers' Historical Society.

Eleanor Sloan was born in 1889 in Hamilton Ohio, and came to Arizona at the age of four months. Her father practiced law in Arizona from 1884, Supreme Court, and in 1909 was appointed Territorial Governor. Miss Sloan grew up in Tucson and Prescott. Following graduation from Vassar College, she traveled and lived abroad. At various times she was employeed by a number of government agencies in Washington D.C. In 1947, she became Historical Secretary of the Arizona Pioneers' Historical Society.
