Betts, Austin W. (Austin Wortham)
Austin Wortham Betts was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He was a West Point cadet; second lieutenant, 62nd Coast Artillery REgiment; 2nd lieutenant through colonel, Corps of Engineers; brigadier general through lieutenant general, Research and Development; Chief of Research and Development.
