Three month expedition to New Mexico led by George Gaylord Simpson, Chairman of the Dept. of Geology and Paleontology.

The expedition party consisted of two units: Edwin H. Colbert headed the search for fossil reptiles, assisted by George Whitaker and later also by Walter Sorensen and Thomas Ieradi. The other unit was led by Dr. Simpson and included his wife, Anna Roe, and William Fish. They searched for fossil mammals and birds. Colbert discovered the first complete North American Dinosaurs near Ghost Ranch.
