Committee organized in Concord, Mass., in April 1942, as a subsidiary of the Committee on Public Safety (under the direction of Mrs. Gladys Hosmer), to entertain servicemen stationed in the area during World War II. Membership made up of young women. CDHC had 80-150 active members. The young women attended functions at United Service Organization clubs in Shirley and Ayer, Mass. and at service clubs and hospitals at Fort Devens.

(Cont.) CDHC ceased to function in 1946, after the war ended. The CDHC's chairmen were Joan Miller (later Joan Miller Sparrow), Barbara Miller, Julie Ann Foote, Helen Deacon and Gloria Audette (later Gloria O'Brien).
