Kaune Grocery Company.
The Kaune Grocery Company, Inc., wholesale and retail dealer in staple and fancy groceries, flour, hay and grain, was opened in 1893 by Henry S. Kaune. The store was located on San Francisco Street, Santa Fe, on the south side of the Plaza, next to Zooks Pharmacy. During the 1930's, H. S. Kaune's sons, Richard, Heine and Charles became partners in ownership.
The many customers between 1886-1940 included famous New Mexicans such as Georgia O'Keeffe, John Sloan and J. L. Seligman.
