Built by Charles Waln Morgan as a ship in New Bedford, Mass., in 1841 by Hillman Brothers Shipyard; most of her 80 year whaling career spent in the employ of J. & W.R. Wing & Co.; rerigged as bark in 1867; final voyage in 1921 after which purchased by Col. E.H.R. Green and berthed at his estate in South Dartmouth, Mass.; in 1941 purchased by Marine Historical Association (later renamed Mystic Seaport, Inc.) and brought to Mystic, Conn., where it remains as a featured museum exhibit.
