Augustus, John, 1785-1859
Variant namesAugustus frequented the Municipal and Police Courts but was not a member of the Massachusetts bar. A shoemaker by trade, he devoted himself to the reclamation of offenders and offered himself as bondsman in exchange for the good behavior of the individual charged.
