Illinois Motor Vehicle Laws Commission

The Illinois Motor Vehicle Laws Commission (1951-1984), composed of five members each from the Senate and the House, was to study existing motor vehicle laws. Specifically, the commission was to investigate the adequacy of laws pertaining to vehicular operation; commercial transportation; legal administration and enforcement; other states' laws; highway construction; road conditions; traffic; and to explore junked vehicle recycling (1973). The commission was abolished by the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984.
