Bradley, Isaac F., 1862-1938.

Isaac F. Bradley graduated from the University of Kansas Law School in 1887, one of the first African Americans to do so. He had a private practice in Kansas City, Kansas and also served as a City Justice of the Peace there from 1889 to 1891, becoming one of the state's first African American judges. From 1894 to 1898, Bradley served as First Assistant County Attorney in Wyandotte County. Besides law, he was active in both civil rights and politics, being a charter member in the NAACPs forerunner the Niagra Movement in 1905. In 1930, Bradley became both owner and editor of the Wyandotte Echo newspaper.

Bradley married Mamie Johnson. The couple had two children, I. F. Jr. and Ruth. I. F. Bradley, Sr. died in 1938.

Isaac F. Bradley, Jr. was born Feb 13 1895 in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas Law School in 1917; he was admitted to the Bar the same year. From 1937 to 1939, Bradley served as Special Assistant Attorney General. During World War II, he served as Captain in the Kansas State Guard. Bradley was active in a variety of organizations, including First AME Church, Alpha Phi Alpha's Beta Lambda chapter, and the Trouveur Men's Social Club.

Bradley, Jr. married Gladys, with whom he had a daughter Frances. I. F. Bradley, Jr. died in 1975.
