Smith, C. Alfred (Cades Alfred)

C. Alfred Smith was professor of chemistry and physics at the Pennsylvania State College. He asked for and received permission in 1877 to take charge of the campus grounds.

A member of Penn State's first graduating class in 1861, C. Alfred Smith was the recipient of Penn State's first advanced degree in 1862. He then served as professor of chemistry from 1877 to 1882.
