Stoeckeler, Hazel Thorson Stoick

Hazel Thorson Stoick Stoeckeler was born on August 27, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her B.S. in 1940 and M.A. in 1945 from the University of Minnesota. She was on the faculty of the University of Minnesota from 1940-1947 and again in 1961 until her retirement in 1981 as professor emeritus of the Department of Design, Housing and Apparel. Professor Stoeckeler may be best known for the mural "The Epic of Minnesota's Great Forests" in the Forestry Building's Green Hall. The mural, completed in 1945, was used as her thesis project to earn her M.A. in fine arts and architecture.
