The First Christian Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, was founded in 1894. By the end of 1896, a church had been constructed at the corner of Iris and Hodges Streets and remained there until the fire of April 23, 1910 destroyed it. Ground breaking ceremonies were held on October 17, 1954, for a new building on Second Avenue between Orchid and 17th Streets. The church celebrated its centennial in 1994.
