Irene Kaufmann Settlement (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
The Irene Kaufmann Settlement (IKS) was Pittsburgh's largest and most prominent settlement house frorm the late 19th through the first half of the 20th centuries and the principal one for Jewish immigrants. The IKS was also a leader in social, civic, health, recreational and educational activities forthe city of Pittsburgh.
