McGee, Thomas D'Arcy, 1825-1868
Variant namesEditor, politician, and poet, born in Carlingford, County Louth, Ireland, 13 Apr. 1825. Lived in New York, Boston, and Buffalo during the early 1850s; moved to Montreal in 1857. He was assassinated in Ottawa, 7 Apr. 1868. He was a good friend of James A. Sadlier, manager of the Montreal branch of D. & J. Sadlier publishers, and Sadlier's wife, author Mary Ann Madden Sadlier.
