These papers were assembled by Lenahan, a Tuscaloosa priest, to vindicate his association with two controversial figures: Fr. Thomas A. Judge (founder of two religious congregations, the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity and the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity, which were popularly known as "The Trinitarians"), with whom Lenahan worked, 1929-1931; and Fr. James E. Coyle, (an Alabama pastor known for vehement anti-English sentiment), to whom Lenahan was assistant, 1914-1921.
