Variant namesC. W. (Curt W.) Wagner, the father of Robert Wagner, was born in Germany ca. 1889 and immigrated to the United States in 1906. A baker by trade, he was at various times in his career a baker for the Karluk, Alaska, fish hatchery, a cook for the Alaska Railroad, and the proprietor or coproprietor of a restaurant and lunch counter in San Francisco and a bakery in Los Banos, California. In Fairbanks, Alaska, he was proprietor of the North Pole Bakery in the 1930s.
